Channel assignments

Set the Beamburst's thumbwheel to the base DMX channel you wish to start at. The table below shows the DMX channel offsets used to control the Beamburst.

For example, if you set the thumbwheel to DMX channel 1, then channel 1 controls Aperture 1 intensity, channel 2 controls Aperture 2 intensity, etc. However, if you set the thumbwheel to DMX channel 5, then channel 5 controls Aperture 1, channel 6 controls Aperture 2,etc.

(Note if you are using DMX channel 0: The way DMX is set up, channel 0 and channel 1 both have the same offset. This means if you set the thumbwheel to DMX channel 0, channel 1 controls Aperture 1, channel 2 controls Aperture 2, etc.)

Seeing a laser beam

In order for a laser beam to come out of the projector, you need to set all of the following on your DMX controller:

  • The laser needs to be on. Set Channel 11 (Red) and Channel 12 (Green/Blue) to 100%
  • The shutter needs to be open. Set Channel 16 (Shutter) to 100%
  • The desired aperture needs to be open. Set one of Channels 1-10 to 100%

(After you turn the interlock key switch on, there is a delay of up to 60 seconds before the laser comes on. This delay is mandated by the U.S. Government for safety reasons, and cannot be changed.)
