Click for larger photoThe state-of-the-art Colorburst animated graphics projectors can do it all. Impress your audiences with the same logos, text, drawings and animations you've seen at major laser shows, concerts and planetariums. You can even do realistic TV-type raster photos (shown at right).

Anything you can draw in laser, you can display with Colorburst. It uses industry-standard scanners, for full compatibility with laser graphic computers. Create your own show, or start with hundreds of pre-existing laser displays.

Click for larger photoIn addition, the Colorburst series also does amazing beam shows. Just aim the projector towards the audience, and mist the air with theatrical haze or fog. The ILDA 30K scanners can produce any shape or number of beams. This unlimited control lets you create any beam show, from high-energy Star Wars to majestic and dreamlike.

The Colorburst compact, full-color laser show projector

The Colorburst compact, full-color laser show projector

Quick description
Compact, full-color laser projector, combining the efficiency of solid-state diodes with an economical gas tube. Requires only a laser show computer system for control.

Even more compact than the original Colorburst. Uses just diodes (no gas tube); this gives three colors. Requires only a laser show computer for control.
Colors

Rainbow -- any color.
Full dimming capabilities.

ü  Create any color(s) from over 1 trillion possibilities.
ü  Match logo colors exactly
ü  Create photorealistic TV-type raster pictures

Red, yellow, green.
Full dimming capabilities.

ü  Convenient switch on projector selects color mode:
          1) Direct -- Only red-yellow-green graphics shown. Graphics in blue will not be visible; graphics in violet will be dim red (no blue component).
          2) Mapping -- Remaps full color input to R-Y-G colors. Any graphics in blue or violet will be converted to green, so they are always visible.

Laser power
Red: 70 mW
+ Green/blue:  150 mW
Total white light: 220 mW

ü The Colorburst beam is extremely tight and the diodes are directly modulated (no loss through PCAOM modulators). For this reason, the Colorburst appears significantly brighter than its 220 mW rating indicates.

Red:
70 mW
+ Green:  30 mW
Total RYG light: 100 mW

ü The diodes are directly modulated (no loss through PCAOM modulators).

Laser type
Red:
Two 635 nm laser diodes

ü Appears 2-3 times as bright to the eye than an equivalent amount of red from a krypton gas laser at 647nm.

Green/blue: Argon gas

ü Tight single-mode TEM00 beam.
ü Appears brighter and tighter than air-cooled argons with multi-mode beams.

Red (635 nm) and green (532 nm) laser diodes

Color modulation
Red:
Direct analog (variable intensity)

ü No wasted power -- 100% efficient modulation

Green/blue: Four-channel PCAOM analog modulation (one green, three blue lines)

ü Red, green and blue are balanced to result in a pure white.

Direct analog (variable intensity)

ü No wasted power -- 100% efficient modulation

Scanning system
Industry-standard Cambridge ILDA 30K scanners and Cambridge amps

ü Shows ILDA test pattern with correct shape and size, at 30,000 points per second
ü The world standard for accurate graphics and beam positioning.
ü
Able to produce the same high-quality laser graphics used at major theme parks, events, clubs, planetariums, etc.

ILDA compatibility   Standard 25-pin ILDA connector for scanner, shutter control.

ü Works with any ILDA-compatible laser show computer systems, such as Pangolin's Lasershow Designer.

DMX compatibility
Standard DMX input connector for lumia speed, lumia select and shutter control.

ü Shutter control via ILDA or DMX input (user-selectable)

None

(Does not have lumia effects. Use ILDA connector for shutter control)

Built-in lumia effects

("laser cloud")

Yes; uses lumia wheel with variable rotation speed.

ü Maximizes brightness by using zero-order beam from modulation system.

No
User-friendly adjustments
All controls recessed to prevent breakage.

On/off switches require positive action to prevent accidental switching.

All user-serviceable adjustments (color combining system, PCAOM angle) can be done through access ports, without opening the housing.

Controls and connections
Keyswitch interlock, power, AC cord, fuse. ILDA DB-25 connector. DMX-in, DMX-thru, ILDA/DMX shutter select. Accessory, lumia and graphics shutters. Argon power level. Two DB-15 Colorburst accessory expansion connectors.

Keyswitch interlock, power, AC cord, fuse. ILDA DB-25 connector. Graphics shutter. Switch to select color mode (RYG only or full-color mapping)
Available options
EFX-5 turret with 5 apertures (4 plus clear)

ü For rotating scan-through effects, such as diffraction gratings, lumia, and fuzz/haze filters.
ü Select aperture and effect rotation speed.
ü Easily mounts to the Colorburst front plate with four screws; connects to back panel DB-15 Colorburst accessory expansion connectors,

Fitted flight/shipping case

ü Specifically made for Colorburst
