Colorburst Description

Compact, full-color laser projector, combining the efficiency of solid-state diodes with an economical gas tube. Requires only a laser show computer system for control.

Sophisticated Color Generation

Red — Two 35 mW 635nm laser diodes. Appears 2-3 times as bright to the eye than an equivalent amount of red from a krypton gas laser at 647nm.

Green/blue — 150 mW air-cooled argon gas laser with tight single-mode TEM00 beam. Appears brighter and tighter than air-cooled argons with multi-mode beams.

Efficient Color Modulation

Red — Direct analog (variable intensity) modulation. 100% efficient, giving maximum red output.

Green/blue — Four-channel PCAOM analog modulation of one green and three blue lines. Amount of green and blue is balanced to produce a pure white, when combined with red.

Industry-Standard
Scanning System

Cambridge 6800 galvanometer scanners and ILDA 30K amplifiers. The world standard for accurate graphics and beam positioning.

ILDA and DMX Compatibility

Standard 25-pin ILDA connector, for compatibility with all major laser show computer systems. Shutter control via ILDA or built-in DMX input (user-selectable).

Extensive Controls and Connections

Keyswitch interlock, power, AC cord, fuse. ILDA DB-25 connector, balanced/unbalanced input select. DMX-in, DMX-thru, ILDA/DMX shutter select. Accessory, lumia and graphics shutters. Argon power level. Two DB-15 Colorburst accessory expansion connectors.

User-Friendly Adjustments

All controls recessed to prevent breakage. On/off switches require positive action to prevent accidental switching. All user-serviceable adjustments (color combining system, PCAOM angle, scanner tuning) can be done through access ports, without opening the housing.

Built-in Lumia Effects

Includes lumia wheel for "laser cloud" effects. Maximizes brightness by using zero-order beam from modulation system.

Optional Scan-Through Effects

Accessory EFX-5 turret with 5 apertures (4 plus clear) for rotating scan-through effects, such as diffraction gratings, lumia, and fuzz/haze filters. Select aperture and effect rotation speed. Easily mounts to the Colorburst front plate with four screws; connects to back panel DB-15 Colorburst accessory expansion connectors.

Compact Size and
Lightweight Chassis

Dimensions: Main housing is 8" H x 7.5" W x 20" L (20 x 19 x 51 cm). Cooling fan on top adds 2" (5 cm) to height and is 6" (15 cm) in diameter. Cooling fans on bottom require an additional 2" (5 cm) clearance provided by included triangular stand measuring 6" H x 10.5" W x 9" L (15 x 27 x 23 cm).

Weight: 19 lb (8.6 kg).

Options: Custom chassis colors, hanging yoke mount, and fitted flight case are available as optional extras.

Runs On Standard Power

110/220 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Includes Power Factor Correction. Requires 20 amps @ 110 VAC, 10 amps @ 220 VAC.

Meets International
Safety Standards

Certified to meet laser display device requirements of U.S. FDA-CDRH (21 CFR 1040.10/11) and European IEC (60825-1).
